ARE THE FILMS ADHESIVE BASED OR STATIC CLING?

The vast majority of films on this site are adhesive based. We do offer a limited collection of Static Cling films. The installation process for both types is identical.

Element^TM self-adhesive window film offers a more permanent application for both commercial and residential applications. Self-adhesive films work best when a more durable, longer lasting product is required and is the primary choice for commertcial and larger residential applications. We offer more than 70 different designs to match most any décor and/or provide varying degrees of privacy. These products may be removed and replaced by more modern designs as changing requirements and decorative updates dictate. We strongly recommend dealer installation for these quality films.

One of the main benefits of Element ^TM static cling film is that it can be installed and removed with ease, doesn't leave behind glue residue, and can be placed on plastic and Plexiglas, as well as ordinary glass. Static Cling options are an excellent choice if you are looking for a temporary solution pending permanent design changes.

can these films be installed by the do-it-yourselfer?

We recommend only those with higher skill levels install adhesive films. The process is simple and straightforward, but adhesive films tend to dry out quickly and do not lend themselves to multiple re-dos. Static Cling films can be re-applied multiple times and are best for the home DIYers. For bigger or more complicated installations we recommend using a licensed window film dealer. Retail sales include complete instructions, a cutting tool and squeegee. Dealer shipments include the film only.
